We can’t change our destiny but we
can change our reaction to the circumstances we come across and the path of our
journey. God already has a plan. He knows the beginning and the end, yet he
gives us the will to choose how to travel along this journey.
We can take it
through the city, busy with traffic, tall buildings blocking the view to the sky, loud music, the streets filled with
people crossing each other without notice, with iPhone, iPad, iPod or
Walkman in hand. Numb like zombies day in and day out. Walking in circles not knowing where and in which direction to go.
Or we can make this
journey through the forest fully awake and connected. Aware of our
surroundings; Listening to the chirping of the Birds. The footsteps of a
grasshopper on a limb. The sound of cracking dry leaves under our feet as we leave permanent footprint with every step we take. These footprints can be a guide
to those that will follow. Just like those footprints left by those that have come
before us.
They already made the way for us by removing the fallen trunks
blocking our way. They built the bridges for us to be able to cross the treacherous rivers.
They have gone before us with bravery, sharing their wisdom with us as we
prepare to confront the bears, rattle snakes, spiders and dangerous animals that they have already encountered. Until that final day, the day when they came face to
face with the Lion, looked into His eyes wide awake and destiny was fulfilled.
Which route will you take. Which route do you feel would fill your soul with the substance that matters. Moments that will remain as a legacy for those that will follow the footprints we leave as we fulfill our destiny.
